How much Ur is mined in Russia and Ukraine?  Close to NONE.  The selloff of the Ur stocks is unwarranted.  The looming supply deficit remains intact.

Are these doldrums merely seasonal, or are we living in the calm before the storm?  I can’t shake a “feeling” that a serious financial crisis will occur in the next couple of months.  Anyone else having similar thoughts?

Visited Costco today.  The 10 oz PAMP Lady Liberty silver bar back in stock after 2-3 day absence.  However, priced above $400 for the first time…$419 to be exact.  Bought last week at $369.  PAMP 1 oz gold bar no more than $10-15 per bar above last week’s price.  No absences in gold this week.  The silver stackers may be reentering the market.

ROAN

Congratulations on selling last November and missing he painfully emotional February/March swoon.  I held through that storm and actually added some shares to my positions.  What I recently sold was less than 15% of my holdings.  I believe the next couple of years will reward those buying a ticket on the wild Ur roller coaster.

PS. I’ve been a bug for the past 40 years.  How I stumbled upon Pyrite’s Place in 2021 I do not  recall.  For years I just occasionally read and enjoyed the community’s postings.  The ongoing market changes in PMs caused by the rapidly declining American hegemony finally got me posting.  Most family and friends have their head in the sand.

Per AIRGUIDE, “ In a major strategic redeployment, more than 24 U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotankers and KC-46 Pegasus aerial refueling aircraft crossed the Atlantic on the night of June 16, 2025. The unusual mass movement of tanker aircraft departed from North America and headed eastbound, with flight patterns suggesting a coordinated redeployment rather than routine operations, according to military analysts.

Just checked Costco’s website.   Cheapest 1 oz gold bar currently $3,499.99, including shipping.  Spot currently $3,430.

I’ve seen Costco selling the 1 oz Rand gold bar in a warehouse cheaper than the website.  I recall the saving being approximately $60/oz.  That’s close to spot, if your local warehouse has the product in stock.

Additionally, on weekdays when the gold price is up $50-80/oz you might catch a deal at your local Costco warehouse if the price has not been adjusted.

Roan, the Ur investment thesis is still intact.  However, buyer sentiment has been poor this past year, at first due to the Mag 7 run-up alternative and lately due to the stock markets sell off.  For sure, the Ur miners are led by Cameco.  The others will follow when Cameco makes its move higher evidencing new money returning to the Ur space.  The Sprott Physical Ur Trust, with its low price and 16% discount to NAV, is a conservative place to invest for now. The Trust’s stock price will move quickly as investor sentiment improves.  In summary, Cameco and Sprotts Ur Trust are the bellwethers to watch.

The contagion is spreading faster than a Chinese flu.  See 36640.  The credit based fiat bubble is bursting.  Few understand what the heck is unfolding before them.  Without a shield of gold and silver to protect your financial security, this is going to be tragic.  Take your pick, “up in smoke”  or “gone with the wind”.

Enjoyed your Back to Work post.  Most of those born after 1975 have no idea how they will be impacted by the descending credit burst.  Some believe nothing could be worse than the GFC of 2008-9.

The abundance of nearly free money over the past 15 years has blinded and turned deaf nearly two generations.  As a child of the 50’s and 60’s I listen to my parents and grandparents.  Debt can be evil and should be limited in use.  I learned most success comes from sacrifice and hard work….not the click of a keyboard that brings Wall Street into your heavily indebted home.

The Ticker Tape Parade is about to end as it did 96 years ago.
