https://arstechnica.com/science/2022/06/court-severely-limits-the-epas-ability-to-regulate-carbon-emissions/

On Thursday, the US Supreme Court issued a ruling in a case that will severely hamper the ability of the US to limit its carbon emissions under the Clean Air Act. In an unusual move, the court kept a case alive that was focused on an emissions plan formulated by the Obama-era Environmental Protection Agency—even though that plan was discarded and replaced by both the Trump and Biden administrations.

In its ruling, the Supreme Court determined that the EPA has only been granted the power to control emissions from existing facilities—it cannot force utilities to shift to different, cleaner-generating technologies. This will make it extremely difficult to use the Clean Air Act to compel a shift from coal to renewables, and it raises questions about whether the Clean Air Act can be used to set effective climate policy at all.

POG/XAU:  16.14 and climbing.  It was only a couple of months ago that the ratio was roughly a third lower/below 12.  The only other time I have seen the ratio deteriorate so quickly was after the PM peak of 2011.

Does anyone know what they symptoms of spike protein exposure are like?

Mrs. PB1 is exhausted every day and often needs a nap in the morning and she simply can not form clear thoughts or complete a conversation.  In the middle of a conversation she gets totally confused as to what she wants to express and then she starts crying in frustration and says that her thoughts can not come clearly.  Does any of this sound like long term covid or spike protein exposure?

zigg..

they've had the technology since the 1980's... we installed VRU's (vapor recovery units)on all of the condensate tanks in Mobil's fields here in Texas... very simple to do.  They should put small NG powered electric(50Kw) generators at each tank battery to use the gas that's normally flared to produce electricity and dump back into the grid.  Most tank battery's have 240V run to the locations already and it would be simple to install a grid-tie system.  The wells that are flaring usually do not have power run to them..so this would not work.  The amount of gas being flared in the Pecos valley would blow your mind.  The entire valley smells very strongly of H2S.  Nasty and should not be allowed.  Oil companies should be forced to have pipelines in place so that zero hydrocarbons are discharged into the environment.  Period.

Cherokeeee, Zigg, Mugwump

Thank you for all your feedback regarding Mrs. PB1 cognitive issues.

A little background may help.  She did fail her cognitive tests that are given during the standard annual Medicare Wellness checkups for the last two years.  After the second failure, the primary care doc called both of us in and we agreed to have head MRI done and the results indicated that there were no abnormalities that such an exam typically picks up.

In terms of Cherokeeee's comments

PB1
Keep her away from all TV for several weeks... get direct sunlight 30 min daily...

In all the years I have known her, she seldom gets exposed to any direct sunlight as she got some skin cancer on her nose a number of years back and has been gun-shy ever since.  It's like pulling teeth getting her to take even short walks which are especially taxing now due to her arthritis.

She would disagree with this, but I have always thought that she logs in way too much television hours per day.

Both our kids (adults now) have independently told me that they through she is just not as sharp as they remember.  They have both been out on their own for over 10 years now.

Permabear 1;

You might want to consult with a cardiologist.  My dad demonstrated similar symptoms as your wife.  In his case, it was a result of an enlarged heart which prevented the brain from getting the required amount of oxygen.  He showed all the symptoms of dementia, but it wasn't dementia.

Aurator, seeing a doctors or even a medical specialists is not problem for retired civil service parasites like myself.  Our health benefits are extremely generous as most prescriptions cost us $5 or less.  Mrs. PB1 has had a hip replacement and a knee replacement while I have had eye surgery for a retina issues.

Good to hear you have good medical processes around you.

Now, I said, don’t rely on the zebranet for answers….so here goes…
An old friend had a hip replacement a few years ago, the surgeons used surgical mesh, as this was, at the time, considered to be a good solution.  As years passed surgical mesh has been revealed to be bad, very bad for the bod.  He’s had several additional operations to remove the mesh.
Hopefully Mrs PB1 has no surgical mesh

Aurator, Mrs. PB1 has an appointment with an Orthopedic surgeon on the 8th of July due to the hip pain that has given her quite a few poor sleep nights.  This is the same surgeon that did her hip replacement so I intend to bring this issue up as I advocate for her when I am present as she is very shy and does not often speak up for herself.

Jesse22, I am also going to ask about the potential heart issue and ask whether we need to consider seeing a cardiologist.

Thanks everyone.

Uh....PB 1.....$11K+ a year?  Is that for the Blue Cross coverage or ???
We use United Health Care with premiums of just under $500./mo. or about $6K a year....you should check into it....We've never had any portion of medical that wasn't covered by them after Medicare's severe deductions (of inflated hospital and doctors' charges!) ...Now, our 'scripts' which are few anyway, average about $40-45. a month, out of pocket...call it another $500./year.   Still, it's a lot cheaper than that Blue Cross plan it seems to me....

Well, we did go through 1800 like hot butter but it wasn’t wasn’t quite dramatic as I thought.  Shares are down but not blown away.

It’s one of those things that are apparently destined to happen - and do - but without the accompanying fanfare.

From here. Maybe more down but look for an area of simply churning.  Buying in the 70s and 80s after churning some works fairly well.

However, if we panic and drop hard from here all bets are off.

BTW, the Fed has to love this action.  Higher dollar, lower gold.  A vote of confidence.

Medicare….now that was a hell of a deal…give up a whole 1.45 % of your wages and they will foot 80% of your healthcare…..for LIFE…!
If you do the math ,us old folks are killing the Medicare “fund”..( there WAS some sort of an account for each of us..wasn’t there ? )

Before we go any farther….let’s play follow the money…read somewhere that the health industry is 17 % of labor market…
The gov ie Medicare pay the hosp corps a pile of money, the corps pay the peeps..the gov tax the peeps and the money is back in Uncle Sam s pocket..🤔

Sweet…🙃

A “silent coup” is a coup d’état that takes place without the use of force, carried out by a government that exercises power in an unconstitutional way.

If the decisions from SCOTUS keep coming like this decision, you won't have to even worry about the radical left as all their heads will have exploded.

Following Landmark Second Amendment Decision, SCOTUS Overturns Appeals Court Decisions in 4 States

The Supreme Court followed up its June 23 landmark ruling that for the first time recognized a constitutional right to carry firearms in public for self-defense, by issuing a series of rulings June 30 reversing federal appeals court decisions that upheld gun restrictions in California, New Jersey, Maryland, and Hawaii.

Courts will find it difficult to uphold the firearms laws in question after the high court’s June 30 and June 23 rulings.

We have a wee bit more downside next week pre UER, but that looks like a shot at "the bottom"

On Thursday, the GDXJ briskly sold down to $32, which is the 50% retracement level from its August 2020 peak at $64 and was last seen when gold was being offered at $1375 per ounce three years ago. The junior miner ETF also closed the farthest below its monthly Bollinger Band support line since its inception in 2009. When combined with trading at the weekly Relative Strength Index (RSI) near 30, these are technical indications of the junior miner sector closing in on a near-term upside reversal.

Just got an update from G&R; no spare capacity, thanks for the SPR oil, Jo-Jo, we need it more than you, Shuffles.

No O&G spare capacity left to to do the 'green' transition, as if that's gonna happen now, dream on, geek boy.

The primary reason for this is years of chronic underinvestment, due to years of lame political virtue signaling.

The stock market seems content with negative interest rates.  Gold should certainly be.

If the July rate increase is 50BP or Powell rolls to dovishness after 75BP methinks that would be all it takes to support gold much higher.

A strong dollar is a sham for a debt collapse in other currencies. But if the dollar continues to rise against the real currency, I run out of explanations.

So what was it, twitter, you're 'news' doesn't fit with the facts, it seldom does, not that it matters much anymore.

14336...lonestar...sorry, missed your earlier question reg. Medicare...yes, of course we're 'users'....signed up at the time I retired about 6+ years ago...Had coverage via my wife's company-paid insurance, so had few 'medical' bills....but plenty of dental billings which were limited to $1300./year....Hell, you can hardly get a tooth drilled and filled any more for $1300. ....Yeah, anyway, we do have a supplemental policy with United Healthcare....no complaints about their coverage or service, other than creeping increases of premiums over the past 6+ years....But, then, our car insurance went up about $140. over last years, too, so....whatta ya do...they've got ya by the short hairs, eh? (someone explain that one to Bigley)
