Gold does not respond to print number inflation, it moves up before the print inflation is evident to the public.  If gold when up during high inflation it would be possible for the 'little people' to buy gold and obtain a profit---NOT allowed!  Only the movers and shakers are permitted to make a profit.

Gold will move when the FED freaks out and starts lowering rates.

Erle, Moon Rocks!

Hey, when I was a kid back in 69, I got a moon rock in a box of Captain Crunch! It was a tiny piece in a small plastic container with a built in Magnifying glass for close inspection! Certified Genuine... said it right on the box.

All this fuss of the moon rocks when they just could have got them from General Mills...

It sure looks to me like dumbocrats want summer riots so Biden can shut everything down for mail in ballets.  I still can't believe that the younger crowd puts up with these ready for the grave politicians.

It's always nice to see a nice rally in the metals when the general marking is tanking.  That's the way it should be.

13238...$24K to paint a house up here, wolavka?  sheesh....that sounds awfuilly HIGH  based on what we paid last year up here in Dutchville for this 2,600 sq.ft. 2-story or what we paid prior to listing our old house in Issaquah 6 years ago....Paid $7500. back then and $9200. up here last year....admittedly, both those were 'negotiated' prices for CASH off-the-books deals which saves us $1000. on one house and $1300. on the one we're in now....

Mugs, everyone's a loser

Ukraine loses - its country is basically destroyed

Russia loses - embarrassing performance regardless how it ends & Russian dead are astronomical to where Adolf Pootee perceived & sold the deal

Pootee - BIGTIME LOSER as well. He had actually become a voice of reason on the global stage - he's swapped that for the "Second coming of Adolf"

Everyone's a loser

Finally the market is starting to act rationally regarding inflation and gold and silver. We have been attacked for so long that it will take some time for the public to wake up to reality and not the fake paper gold and silver world we have been in since the 1970's. Well this is a good start. They lied again inflation is more like 15 percent not the 8 percent they are claiming. Such propaganda that is taking over our lives.

When "rationality" turns to "fundamentals"  THAT' S when the fun starts.
"Racist" is a toolword. You must know that.
Any objective examination of the effect of "them" has to lead you to the behavior and ideology that is now termed, "racist."

Refute if you can.

Norwester1.

Of course.  I am just delighted to see the metals react the way most of us believe they should react under existing circumstances.  I will take this type of move and enjoy it for as long as it lasts.  Apr/May/Jun is typically the worst quarter for PMs, so I usually don't expect much during this quarter.

13270....jesse....it's pushed higher than I'd expected at this point, too, so maybe this is more than a knee-jerk reaction to the inflation numbers...the most recent high at $1874. on the 3rd may prove to be a 'double top', however, for this move...we'll know soon enuff...

Jesse, the one thing that does not seem to change that much is the fact that if you want retail gold, you have to pony up about $2K for once ounce.

Everything else is just New York City paper games.   When the dust settles, gold in your hand will win the day as history tells us so.

FeSS. 13233

Coprolite has great medical properties.  Especially as the world ages.  A good morning coprolite means a good day ahead.

Now I know that most here, to put it politely, are not young enough to be called Generation X. But I am really concerned that FeSS may be much older than we’d realised if his signal for a good day is to expel fossilised poop.

It takes many thousands of years for a single poop to fossilise and if FeSS is looking forward to his daily coprolite we can only assume that he’s lived a very, very long time.

Move over Boomers, here come the Archaics.

How long does it take for moonlight to reach the earth?
Asked by: Cara

Answer
Light travels through space at just over 186,000 miles per second. The moon is just under 250,000 miles from Earth, so light from the Moon's surface has to travel more than one second (about 1.3 seconds) to reach us.

Among other things, the astronauts left reflecting mirrors on the moon. By shining a laser beam on those mirrors from Earth, and measuring the time (less than 3 seconds) it takes to see its reflection, the length of the round trip can be easily calculated to within a few inches!

If you've watched any of the videos of the moon landings, you might have noticed that the radio responses from the moon walking astronauts sometimes included a delayed echo of the questions. That also was a result of the 3 seconds it takes for a radio signal to travel to and from the moon, since radio waves are another form of light waves.

Since moonlight is reflected sunlight, it originates at the Sun's surface 93 million miles from the Earth/Moon system. It takes about 8 minutes for that trip, so the short, final hop from the Moon to the Earth is trivial by comparison.

If you are a GOP politician, you really have to be a little envious of the voting base that the democrats enjoy.  Republicans have got to be more than a little envious at times.

Democrat voters are so economically ignorant and really so slow with logic and reasoning skills that you can throw out utter nonsense and that voter base will believe you and eat it up.

The examples of this democrat idiocy are more abundant in 2022 than they were 35 years ago because of the decline in American public schooling.

Brandon can throw out his nonsense on:

Putin's gas inflation
January 6th being an insurrection
The economy being in great shape
core inflation dropping
Climate change imperatives
Green Energy is less expensive than fossil fuel.
Electric cars save the planet.
white supremacy

and Boobus Americanus will eat it up and keep voting democrat.

It really does appear to be a setting sun on America.  Self government is not possible with systemic stupidity like this.

If I could wear boots with my fecked foots  I could quake in them with the Iranian threat to Israel. It wouldn't be too tough with the supermodern internet to solicit opinion from the constituents on just how much more the taxcows should blow on their supposed defence. The USA already is in HUUUGE debt from wrecking the eastern Mediterranean and north Africa on the behalf of that sh1tty little country. They are sitting on a few hundred nuke cores stolen from the USA when the guards did the earlier version of watching  ol' Jeffry Epstein. The triggers took a little longer to steal, but hey, if they want to war against their neighbors up the road, they have the tools. Just like in the old testament that is some sort of record of continually warring on the neighbors. Savages with a savage ideology and religion.

On the original Kitco board there was a guy that got tossed for direct copy/paste from the B. Talmud. I didn't believe his posts were accurate so I bought yet another set of books to clog my house and annoy the wife. It was evident that his copy/paste was accurately presented. For one thing, I do not get the strictures on women to make them subservients. Yeah sure wimmin have a built in cycle. Everyone from day zero knew this to be the case, but yet the LAWS excluded them from the homo hop of the males. Freaky.

NPR is truly bad. They are such followers of the strangest crap from the most boring folks. The only decent show they have is a weekly show on the derivation of words and phrases. In central Wisconsin you get twelve NPR stations and sh1tkicker muzac. I welcome the Sunday polka music stuff from a distant station.
They used to have a show that re-played old radio drama and such. It was good overall and had a most haunting saxophone solo for the exit music. Of course they dumped it to run BBC propaganda. Why do we get taxed for this crap?

Ooops...sorry....yeah, that's it -- NPR....I was thinking of the TV version which, if you can get past the constant solicitation for funding stuff, does have an occasionally decent show without any politicizing thrown in...most of the time....

I am being threatened with deevorce for buying a shithouse of food. Many wimmins have missed the price rise and the unavailability of staples. Now it is tampons that are tough to find. I didn't buy those as there is no necessity in our house. I am weary of being a POS for stocking up for ourselves and the employees that mock me. An odd thing is the rise in prices of seasonings in just a day or two if you leave them in an I-cart. You are right in laughing at me for having two years worth of my favored Jalapeno bottles. There is no way that I would eat the junk that I bought without it.

For Aurator that thumps me into the conspiracy bin.
"NASA has already spent $420 million on space suit development since 2007, before the advent of its Artemis program, and it plans to “invest approximately $625.2 million more” through 2025, the report said. The space suit’s design and purpose have changed repeatedly over the years as NASA’s priorities in space teeter between new administrations. A new Artemis-tailored space suit design, called xEMU, was unveiled in 2019. Current suits worn by astronauts on the International Space Station are restrictive, haven’t been upgraded in decades, and aren’t designed for long walks on the Moon."
The seamstresses at Playtex, makers of the Bullet Bra, fabricated moon suits in record time and at a tiny portion of funding of the suits that are unusable on the moon in modern times.
Grow up for once, and do not lecture me on the communication delay that vanished. Speach(k) takes a while to formulate with the lag from earth to moon and back. You know it all on how radio was nearly instantaneous back in the good old days of Star Trek. Show me the math.

mugwump, the USA has enormous clean coal deposits, yet are forbidden to mine it. My fave was when Biw Crinton had the forestry gang peel back the ancient trees around his photo op at the Grand Canyon in order to stop the high grade anthracite massive deposit owned by the public education racket in Utah so that Crinton would get gobs of dough from the Indonesian creeps.

A Ukrainian spokeswoman who spread lurid tales of  Russians raping girls, toddlers and pensioners has admitted it was  all a propaganda ploy.
https://southfront.org/one-of-the-main-ukrainian-propagandists-takes-back-her-words/

You have to ask yourself now: how many stories out of Ukraine are exaggerations and blatant lies? A case in point is a poster here who keeps repeating simply impossible numbers of dead Russians. I give him the benefit of the doubt--he has swallowed  a meme floated by unnamed sources line hook and sinker, and he is  unable to make a reasoned judgement through lack of knowledge or common sense.

Well yesterday was the first time in a very long time that we have what should be happening. General market down and gold and silver and the miners up. Not sure how long this will last because they use their program trading programs to keep this sector down. It will take time before people wake up to reality but I think one more 1/2 interest rate increase and than the economy goes down hill and this will blow up the petrodollar and bring in inflation.

If you might be interested: Origins of Precision
FWIW, I have a "lab grade" extended set made of chromium carbide that is new perfect. I seem to recall that they are within two millionths of stated. As far as I can tell the set now costs about 19,000. I got them for less than a grand. The liquidation of USA manufacturing make it so cheap to have the best stuff shed on ebay. If you are in the market for castoffs I recommend Starrett  Croblox. The shop sets outlast steel by an easy 25X.

I just recalled how much hate I have for goomint. Keep them in your prayers. Going to church back many years ago I was put off by the call for prayer for our "leaders". I formed fantasies on how each one would die in a fiery crash with each other.

I looked up Christmas Island on worthless Wikipedia and it didn't mention any of the fireworks. If I was ever to go to that place I would carry my Ludlum 2223 with the 2 inch gamma detector and the alpha/beta/gamma toy.
